Colusa County ready to repair roads
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Repairs to nearly 20 miles of Colusa County roads will go ahead this spring, in time for summertime harvests and tourism in the region.
Paving of Maxwell Road and old Highway 99W in the west county will begin around May 7, according to Jon Wrysinski, assistant public works director.
Completion is expected by the end of May.
County road workers plan to resurface the routes ahead of the increased traffic of the summer.
Maxwell Road carries traffic from Interstate 5 in the upper Sacramento Valley east toward the Colusa Casino Resort, and the north-south 99W is a busy route for produce trucks, with rice dryers and tomato canneries lining the two-lane route.
Road crews will close one lane for 10 to 20 minutes at a time while paving proceeds.
The road work will cover 8 miles of Maxwell Road from downtown Maxwell east to Highway 45 north of Colusa, and 7 miles of 99W from Arbuckle to the Yolo County border.
Paving also will include a short stretch of Grimes-Arbuckle Road northeast of Arbuckle.
