Arbuckle man stabbed, left to die

A 49-year-old Arbuckle man was listed in serious condition Wednesday afternoon at a Sacramento area hospital, two days after being stabbed several times in the “upper body and head.”
Mark Cullen was found in the early morning hours Monday along County Line Road by a co-worker at Adams Vegetable Oils Inc., the Yolo County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Cullen had not shown up for his usual shift, and when reached on his cell phone, told a co-worker he was dying.
“The co-worker drove Cullen’s usual route to work and located Cullen lying on the side of County Line Road,” according to a Sheriff’s Department statement. “Cullen had stab wounds to his upper body and head.”
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene – on County Line Road between Old Highway 99W and County Road 88 near Dunnigan – about 12:15 a.m.
Cullen’s vehicle was missing, and later located on Old Highway 99W south of County Line Road, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
Sgt. Lance Faille said the department has processed the vehicle, but he was not aware of any immediate development from possible evidence retrieved.
Investigators also are waiting to talk to Cullen, so what happened and why is still unknown.
It is being investigated as an attempted homicide.
