News Briefs: New Year's benefit breakfast slated in Grimes

The annual New Year's Day Breakfast sponsored by the Sacramento River Fire District, Grand Island Station, is set in Grimes.

Breakfast will be served from 8-11 a.m. Jan. 1 at the fire station, 345 Main St., featuring a full menu including a choice of meat, eggs, pancakes and the breakfast burrito station. Beverages are provided.

There is no fee, but donations will be accepted at the door. Money raised goes toward scholarships, funding of local school and library projects, and upgrading the fire station.
