UPDATE: Mother suspected of taking own son

The Sutter County Sheriff’s Department was searching Monday for a woman who allegedly abducted her 3-year-old son from the home of a guardian.

Ann Seigler, 27, and her son, Seth, are believed to be in the Chico area, where she has family, said Undersheriff J. Paul Parker.

Seigler allegedly took the child about noon Monday from the home of her brother in the 900 block of Ida Way in Yuba City. The brother is the child’s legal guardian, said Parker.

Parker went to the home on the premise of visiting her son, picked up the child and walked into the back yard. She left through a side gate and went toward two waiting vehicles, he said.

The vehicles were described as a newer, red sport utility vehicle and an older, two-door sedan with tinted windows and oxidized green paint. The red SUV is believed to belong to her boyfriend, Jarvis Bond. Bond's last known residence was 1000 block of Columbus Avenue,

Chico, according to the sheriff's department.

The child is 3 feet tall and has blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing camouflage shorts and shirt.

Seigler is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. She also has blond hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who sees the mother and son is asked to call the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department at 822-7307 or their local law enforcement agency.
