Prowler linked to Yuba City burglaries, deputies say
An accused prowler arrested Tuesday in Yuba City has since been linked to three suspected burglaries in west Yuba City neighborhoods.
Jason Charles Borelli fled from authorities and was taken into custody after witnesses spotted him on the rooftop of a home along the 1500 block of Holly Tree Drive, Sutter County sheriff’s spokeswoman Brenda Baker said.
Later in the day, Baker said, detectives linked Borelli to at least three residential burglaries in the same neighborhood.
“Property had been taken from several residence and dropped in backyards,” Baker said.
Baker said Borelli is also suspected of attempting to break into at least one other home in the area.
Investigators believe Borelli tried ditching the stolen property as he attempted to flee custody.
Property was taken from homes on Holly Tree Drive, Cedar Way and Parkview Avenue.
The stolen property was recovered, Baker said.
Borelli, 26, was initially arrested on an outstanding felony warrant and charged with prowling and now faces additional felony counts of burglary and receiving stolen property.
A woman is being sought in connection with Tuesday’s report, but no description has been released. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department at 822-7307.
