100 years
A new lodge of the Fraternal Brotherhood will be instituted at Live Oak. Thursday night by S.J. Crook, district organizer of the order. The baby lodge, which will make its debut with between twenty and thirty charter members and indications are that it will grow to be one of the most healthy in the district.
50 years
An ordinance prohibiting minors from playing pinball machines in Yuba City received initial approval by a 4-1 vote at the City Council meeting last night. The ordinance prohibits minors from playing "any amusement device, pinball or marble game as the same is defined in this ordinance."
25 years
A commercial hunting club and game refuge will be developed on a portion of a Yuba foothill ranch says the new owner of the property near Timbuctoo.
About 500 acres of the historic Bonanza Ranch have been sold to longtime area resident David Peters Huckins who said he and Brock Allen of Nevada City plan to operate the Timbuctoo Gamebird Club on the property.

The Biggs City Council voted unanimously to keep the city's name after more than 100 residents — many of them angry — turned out for a public meeting. At least 90 percent were opposed to the California Milk Processor Board's proposal that Biggs rename itself "Got Milk?"

Harter Road's long-awaited south connection with Colusa Avenue opened, adding a third route for River Valley High School students. The southbound signal and connection was open by 4 p.m., linking the high school with the Harter Road intersection. Before, students were limited to two routes to main roads.
