Officials locate Yuba City man, 92, who disappeared

A 92-year-old Yuba City man, who disappeared at about 10 a.m. today, has been found and appears to be OK, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department reported.

John Thoo, who suffers from dementia, walked away from his South Barrett Road home and was located just before noon near Bridge Street and Palora Avenue after a search by sheriff’s deputies and the Yuba City Police Department.

Authorities said Thoo likes to go for walks in the neighborhoods around his home and appears to have wandered farther than usual this morning.
