Lease ended for access to land
As part of the consent agenda, approved 5-0, Sutter County supervisors on Tuesday approved terminating a month-to-month lease agreement with Sanchez Truck Repair Inc. because it's no longer necessary.
In 2003, the county agreed to pay the business $100 a month to use its property to access a nearby county corporation yard. In recent years, a decline in the use of heavy equipment has meant the county can access the yard from another entrance, on Samuel Drive.
SUTTER COUNTY
Supervisors back Enterprise Zone
On a 5-0 vote, Sutter County supervisors on Tuesday endorsed continued state funding for the Yuba-Sutter Enterprise Zone, as requested by zone manager Mary Hansen.

Local officials have said the enterprise zone has made a tangible difference in promotion of regional economic development, while critics of such zones said they have little practical impact and should be phased out.

Fertilizer company expansion is on
On a 5-0 vote Tuesday, Sutter County supervisors turned back an appeal of a planning commission decision giving the OK for an expansion of an agricultural fertilizer supply business.
The business, on Everglade Road outside Yuba City, would add a tank for aqua ammonia, a commonly used fertilizer for row crops and rice.
County officials received an appeal expressing concern about the aqua ammonia, but the appeal came from Fresno. No one spoke in support of denying the expansion.
