Briefs: 15-year-old girl accused of robbing man

A Sacramento man and a 15-year-old girl were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of robbing a 64-year-old Yuba City man on the street.

The incident in the 1000 block of Maple Avenue was reported at 11:51 a.m.

The girl asked the victim for bus fare. When he took out his money, about $60, she grabbed it and ran. An officer arrested her near the Bonanza Inn, 1001 Clark Ave., after a short foot pursuit, said Yuba City police Lt. Tom Tappe.

It was not clear how much the adult, 19-year-old Devonte Malcom Davis, knew about what the girl was doing but he was aware she had stolen the money, Tappe said.

Davis was arrested near Clark Avenue and Wilwick Way and booked into Sutter County Jail, where he was being held Thursday without bail.
