Flu shots available at several Yuba County locations
For people looking to make sure they have the best winter and holiday season possible, the first step is to take a shot.
Not an alcoholic one, but one protecting against the flu virus expected to be most common over the next few months. And for Yuba County, getting a shot is as easy as stopping at one of several clinics planned for adults and seniors over the next few weeks.
Today and Friday, the Yuba County Public Health Clinic, 5730 Packard Way, Suite 100 in Linda, will host clinics intended for seniors from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m.
Clinics from 10 a.m.-noon for adults will be on Wednesday at Butte Christian Manor, 223 F St., Marysville; Thursday at the Buddhist Church, 125 B St., Marysville; Oct. 10 at Prestige Assisted Living, 515 Harris St., Marysville; and Oct. 13 at Olivetree Senior Apartments, 1901 Seventh Ave., Olivehurst.
The county health department will have a drive-through clinic with no appointment necessary at the county clinic on 9-11 a.m. Oct. 22.
Those receiving the shots can either present a Medicare card or make a $5 donation, though donations only will be accepted for the drive-through shots. The clinics will continue while supplies last and are not for either pregnant women or those younger than 18 years old.
Shots for those two groups will be available at the county health clinic on Tuesdays and Fridays beginning Oct. 11, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-to 4:30 p.m.
