Campaign 2012: Lake Francis Grange backs Measure T

Members of the Lake Francis Grange in Dobbins have endorsed Measure T, the Yuba County ballot measure intended to preserve agriculture and open space.

In a letter sent to Measure T proponent and Yuba County Supervisor Hal Stocker, the grange's master, Richard Dahms, said the measure coincides with the grange's long-standing support for maintaining rural values.

"As a group, we felt that preservation of open space and timber production lands fit well with the added protection of agricultural lands afforded by the initiative," Dahms wrote in the letter.

The measure would require voter approval when a development would require rezoning land designated as "natural resources" in the county's General Plan update.
