Yuba City
Play donating to Haiti
The Acting Company is donating $5 for each ticket sold for its Feb. 5, 6 and 7 performances of "Once Upon a Mattress" to benefit disaster relief efforts in Haiti.
Tickets are $15 each, with the donations going to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.
The play is performed at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through Feb. 14. For more information, visit www.actingcompany.org or call 751-1100.

Free child fingerprinting
The Yuba County Sheriff's Department will offer free fingerprinting for children from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Yuba County Government Center, 915 Eighth St., Marysville. Clerk-recorder on board
Sutter County Clerk-Recorder Donna Johnston has been appointed to the board of directors of the County Recorders' Association of California.
As the association's liaison to the Secretary of State's Office, she will monitor proposed changes in law that impact county recorders and coordinate discussion and positions. Johnston was appointed as Sutter County clerk-recorder in January 2008.
Yuba City
Youth fair at mall today
Youth organizations are taking part in today's Youth Club Fair at the Yuba Sutter Mall in Yuba City.
The event, near Sears, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participating groups include Little League, Twin Cities Junior Blazers and River Valley Junior Falcons.
Yuba City resident Jaime Strawmier, 7, is raising funds for St. Jude's Hospital for Children by selling beaded bracelets.

Church opens kitchen
Good Seed Church is opening its Lord's Fast Soup Kitchen starting Monday for people in need of a free hot meal.
The site will serve a meal and coffee from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays in the Manna House next to the church at 1580 Hammonton-Smartsville Road, Linda.
Showers will be avialable by appointment. Call 742-2345.
Volunteers, food servers and donations are needed. Food donations can be dropped off at the church. Checks, made out to Good Seed Church, can be mailed to P.O. Box 1642, Marysville, CA 95901.
