Public's help sought finding couple in Manton area
Anyone with information about the couple should contact Shasta County Sheriff’s Sgt. Troy Clegg at 245-6095.
A couple have been reported missing in the Manton area since Dec. 24, and law enforcement is asking for the community's help in locating them.
Eric James Eide, 54, of Manton, and his girlfriend, Camille Rae Kober, 52, of Berkeley, were reported missing by Eide's mother on Christmas Eve.
The Shasta County Department Office conducted an investigation and learned Eide was seen at North State Recycling on Dec. 20, driving a maroon 1992 Toyota pickup with California license plate 4N13988.
Eide was reportedly turning in scrap and told employees he was returning to the Pacific Gas & Electric property in Manton to get more scrap metal.
PG&E workers reported finding Eide's truck in front of the gate at Volta Powerhouse Road. They said they left a note stating it needed to be removed by Dec. 22.
The pickup was not removed, so the utilities company requested assistance from the Shasta County Sheriff's Department.
A PG&E employee reported seeing Eide and Kober around 3 p.m. Dec. 21 walking onto the PG&E property at Volta Powerhouse Road, but a search of Eide's residence and the utilities company's property turned up nothing.
The Sheriff's Department has conducted searches in the area of Volta Powerhouse, with help from the county's Search and Rescue team and a California Highway Patrol helicopter.
Eide and Kober have not contacted family or friends, the Shasta County Sheriff's Department reported.
