No one injured in Live Oak fire

An afternoon blaze gutted part of a family's home Sunday in Live Oak.

Bob Ontiveros and several of his children were at church when the fire was reported at 2:09 p.m.

Their two dogs, Pookie and Bambi, were found hiding under the house and were coaxed out by firefighters.

Two other dogs and a turtle were also rescued.

No one was injured in the fire.

The back section of the L-shaped home on Orchard Way was well-involved when firefighters arrived on the scene, according to Sutter County Fire Department Lt. Rick Fenn.

Half the home was damaged by the fire, and the entire residence was smoke-damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
