Gill endorsed by police association

Kash Gill has received the endorsement of the Yuba City Police Officer's Association in his bid to return to the Yuba City City Council.

The association's vice president, Dennis Hauck, said in a press release from Gill's campaign that Gill was the first candidate the group had endorsed in 15 years, because his values and vision were such close matches with the association.

"Yuba City Police Officer's Association sees the importance of the upcoming election and the effect that local government spending will have on the future of the city that everyone in public safety works hard to protect," Hauck said in the release.

Nevada County GOP backs Logue

The Nevada County Republican Party is backing Assemblyman Dan Logue in his campaign to win the 4th State Senate District seat.

In a press release from Logue's campaign, county party Chairman Rich Ulery said Logue, R-Loma Rica, was a staunch defender of conservative principles and a respected leader in the Legislature, where he's among the highest-ranking Republicans.

The endorsement follows similar backing from other county GOP arms, including Yuba, Placer and Butte counties. Five candidates, including two Republicans, are running in the Nov. 6 special election for the 4th District seat.
