Fuel price fell in Marysville last month
Marysville was one of the only cities in Northern California where the price of gas fell over the last month, to $3.72 a gallon, according to AAA of Northern California's latest gas prices report.
In almost every other city in the survey, the price for a gallon was unchanged or rose by a penny to 7 cents, as experienced in Santa Cruz.
Economic uncertainty in Europe, with corresponding volatility in commodities' markets, was responsible for the rise, which pushed gasoline prices up statewide to $3.84 a gallon, three cents higher than October. Northern California's average price is $3.82 a gallon, according to AAA.
The price of a barrel of oil jumped by $75.67 on Oct. 4 to $93.19 by the end of the month. Relatively flat demand kept gas prices from rising further.
A AAA spokesman said drivers should take the extra time to find the cheapest gas possible.
South Lake Tahoe, at $3.99 a gallon, was the highest in Northern California, while Marysville was the lowest. The nationwide average is $3.41, up by a penny from last month, and 56 cents higher than a year ago.
Prices also fell in San Mateo and San Rafael, by a penny each, while it was unchanged in Eureka, Redding, Sacramento and Yreka.
