Carrousel of Health is Saturday

St. Elizabeth Community Hospital's Health Spree has partnered with the Tehama County Education Foundation, 4-H Club and Sacred Heart to create an expanded health event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Tehama District Fairgrounds.

The Carrousel of Care will include a 4-H Club exhibition, the Tehama Education Foundation Children's Faire and the Sacred Heart Fun Run and Calico Faire.

"We saw an opportunity to leverage resources, partner with other events that share our mission and ultimately relieve the duties of many vendors who attend each of our events at various times throughout the year," Shelley MacDonald, Tehama Education Foundation president, explained.

Each organization will offer various health, wellness and educational support services to those who attend.

The St. Elizabeth Health Spree will offer free flu shots while supplies last, and more than 80 booths with health- and wellness-related information and products will be on hand.

The Children's Fair will offer information, activities and services focused on children and education, while 4-H will be presenting their programs and various activities to engage children. The Sacred Heart Calico Faire will host games, food and activities for the entire family.

"The Sacred Heart Fun Run is a great way to start off a fun filled day," Strawberry Weber, Fun Run coordinator, said in a statement.

Pat Manoli, senior director of Mission Integration, said she is pleased the hospital has been able to partner with other programs that are aligned with its mission to provide access and information about health, wellness and educational services to the community.
