Highway 32 wreck kills Orland teen, Oakland woman

A 18-year-old Orland woman and a 87-year-old woman from Oakland were killed Monday in a two-car accident on Highway 32 near County Road VV east of Orland, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Their identies were not immediately available.

CHP Officer Paul Burns said the accident is under investigation and a male victim survived the crash. He was sent to Enloe Hospital in Chico with major injuries.

His status was unknown as of early Monday afternoon, Burns said.

The accident at about 9:27 a.m. closed Highway 32 for about an hour. The highway reopened at about 10:35 a.m.

The crash involved a silver Subaru and white Toyota Camry, Burns said, and took place about two miles east of Stony Creek with one vehicle ending up in an orchard.
