Suspect sought after Linda high-speed chase

Yuba County sheriff’s deputies called off a high-speed chase this morning after the suspect drove through heavy traffic in Linda.

Deputies are still looking for the suspect.

The man, described as a white male adult, spun his tires in front of sheriff’s deputy around 11:07 a.m. at the intersection of Montclair Avenue and Hammonton-Smartsville Road, Undersheriff Jerry Read said.

The deputy lost the vehicle briefly, but picked him up again on a nearby road, Read said.

Deputies pursued the vehicle, said to be a gray coupe, but backed off a short time later around Erle and Lindhurst avenues for public safety reasons.

No injuries were reported.

No further description is available at this time.

Anyone with information is asked contact the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department at 749-7777.
