YUBA CITY

Woman arrested in embezzlement

A Biggs woman has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling at least $9,123 from a Yuba City dentist while working as his office manager.

Tiffany Lynae Lovell, 30, of the first block of Pryde Avenue, was arrested Tuesday at her home and released on $60,000 bail.

Lovell worked eight years for dentist Michael A. Passaglia, 421 Del Norte Ave., said Yuba City Police Department spokeswoman Shawna Pavey.

Lovell used an office credit card to purchase items for her personal use and is suspected of taking cash paid by patients, Pavey said. The dentist's loss could exceed $9,123 when an investigation is complete, said Pavey.

An arraignment date for Lovell in Sutter County Superior Court had not been set as of Thursday.

Passaglia declined comment.
