Tea party cofounder to speak in Corning
Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of the nationwide Tea Party Patriots, will speak to the Corning group on Thursday.
Martin will speak during the Corning Patriots meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Corning Senior Center, 1015 Fourth St.
Martin's stop is part of national trip to meet with patriots to discuss the principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally, limited government and free markets.
"Everyday Americans must live within their means, why shouldn't the government be responsible to do the same," is reported to be part of Martin's focus.
She believes many politicians at the nation's capitol fear the tea party and that the party is often used as a scapegoat or is reported to be is losing its power.
