Briefs: Hand Up seeks food, gift items
A Hand Up Ministry, helping homeless in the community, is seeking food and gifts for celebrations planned during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
For information about dropping off donations of turkey and ham, plus dinner trimmings, camp gear and warm clothing, call Pastor Ron Brasier at 613-2859.
Holiday services and meals will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 24 and Dec. 22 at the River Bottom Church, 1297 Market St. in Yuba City.

GOP committee seeks members
The Yuba County Republican Party is accepting applications for people hoping to win elections on Dec. 12 to the county's central committee.
Applicants must be county residents who are registered to vote as Republicans, and must submit letters of interest, including qualifications and goals, by Dec. 5. The letters can be sent to the Yuba County Republican Party, PO Box 784, Marysville.
Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the election/caucus on Dec. 12 will be at the Caltrans Auditorium, 703 B St, Marysville. Interested candidates must attend. Membership on the committee will be for one, two or four years.

Christmas Faire starts Nov. 30
A Gold Rush Christmas Faire set Nov. 30 kicks off the holiday season in downtown Marysville.
Planned from 5 to 9 p.m. on D Street between Third and Sixth streets, festivities including strolling musicians, carolers and dance and drama productions. Businesses will be open.
In addition, the lighting of the outdoor Christmas tree at Third and D streets is at 7 p.m.
