A 45-year-old man has been identified as the one who died after falling from a cliff on the southwest side of Camp Far West Lake Reservoir Saturday evening.

Irfan Nasufovic, whose hometown was not available, died after he slipped off a cliff and hit his head on rocks as he fell, according Lt. Jeff Ausnow of the Placer County Sheriff's Department.

Nasufovic fell into about 25 feet of water and did not surface, and 911 operators received the call at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Ausnow said a department dive team recovered Nasufovic's body at about 6:30 p.m.

He said it was unclear whether alcohol may have played a role in the accident, or whether Nasufovic died from the blow to his head or drowning. Autopsy results are pending, he said.
