Teen riding scooter, truck collide in Olivehurst
A 17-year-old boy was flown to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento after being hit by a vehicle on Olive Avenue Monday afternoon near Lindhurst High School in Olivehurst, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Officer Duane Nokes said the boy was riding a child’s motorized scooter traveling southbound on the shoulder of the road when he swerved into the lane and was hit a vehicle driven by Jong Thao, 50, of Marysville.
The accident happened about 3:44 p.m.
Nokes said the minor, who was not wearing a helmet, was conscious and talking when he left the scene.
