Dispute over pizza bill ends in stabbing
Man booked into Sutter County Jail
It was a violent pizza debate.
A man was stabbed in the chest with a pair of scissors Tuesday in Live Oak during an argument over a Straw Hat pizza bill.
Kyle A. Allen’s injuries were not considered serious and he was not listed as a patient Wednesday afternoon at Rideout Regional Medical Center. Allen’s friend, Ahmad D. Gorsi, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Department said.
“They were arguing over the cost of the pizza,” Capt. Lewis McElfresh said.
It was not clear what type of pizza sparked the food fight.
Allen, 21, told deputies Gorsi stabbed him. However, Gorsi claimed Allen grabbed the scissors from Gorsi’s hands and stabbed himself in the chest, McElfresh said.
Deputies were called around 6:45 p.m. to a home in the 10000 block of Krehe Road. Gorsi, 28, was booked into Sutter County Jail without bail.
It was the second time in the last four years sheriff’s deputies intervened in a bizarre dispute involving Gorsi.
In 2008, Gorsi was beaten with a belt and rock during an argument over “respect,” according to Appeal-Democrat archives.
Gorsi’s head was cut, but he refused medical treatment.
Nicholas A. Petrone, now 25, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge Oct. 23, 2008, and was sentenced to probation, according to court records.
Gorsi is set to appear Thursday for arraignment in Sutter County Superior Court.
