News Briefs: Man stabbed at downtown Yuba City bar
An unidentified Yuba City man was stabbed early Saturday outside the Spur Lounge in Yuba City.
Details were sparse and police said the investigation was just getting under way.
The victim, whose name was not released Saturday, has been hospitalized and police have yet to obtain any statement from him regarding the incident, Yuba City police said Saturday.
Police officers responded at around 2:45 a.m. to the reported stabbing in the 700 block of Plumas Street.
Police described the victim's injuries as "non-life-threatening."
Alleged window-smasher sought
Authorities are looking for a Yuba City man who allegedly used a hammer to smash out the windows of a vehicle that had stalled on Feather River Boulevard in Yuba County, causing more than $3,000 in damage.
Yuba County sheriff's deputies said Gerald Lujan had been following Marysville's Ervin Strickland around for several minutes before Strickland's car engine simply quit.
Strickland told deputies that he and Lujan have had "an ongoing beef" for some time, but refused to elaborate to investigators, according to Deputy Karen Howard.
Strickland's refusal to cooperate with detectives was not slowing down the investigation, Howard said.
"We're looking for Lujan and would like the public to help," the deputy said.
Lujan is described as a 38-year-old male, about 5-foot, 9-inches tall, weighing about 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Yuba County Sheriff's Department at 749-7777.
