Loss and Learning

Sometimes it takes death to be in your hands to realize a few things.

I watched the littlest one take her last breath, you can prepare and prepare for death, but when it comes, you are never truly ready.

So yes, that is how it went from 10 to 9 pups, in a matter of minutes. Poor little thing didn't have a fighting chance.

But for the two days she was with us, she touched a few lives with that little horseshoe mark on her tummy and how she fit into one hand.

HOMELESS SHELTER?
Yuba City is considering using the former fire station No. 4 on Walton Avenue as a cold-weather shelter for homeless families. Is this a good idea?
Yes. We've gone too long with limited options for homeless families.
It's a good idea, but the fire station is a bad location for this.
No. The city has better things they can use the building for.
I'm not sure.
