Olivehurst man arrested in ‘inappropriate relationship' with teen girl
An Olivehurst man was arrested on Thursday after authorities discovered he was involved in an "inappropriate relationship" with a teenage girl, the Yuba County Sheriff's Department reported.
Mathew Joseph Santos Comporato was booked into the Yuba County Jail on $100,000 bail on suspicion of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 15.
Undersheriff Jerry Read said the 26-year-old man was involved with the 14-year-old girl for about two months.
Numerous incidents occurred, all of them at a bus stop in front of Walmart in Linda in the 1100 block of North Beale Road, authorities said.
"During which time there was kissing and inappropriate, over-the-clothes touching," Read said. "No force or duress was used by the suspect to engage in this relationship."
Investigators interviewed Comporato on Thursday at the Sheriff's Department in Marysville.
"The suspect confessed to the relationship during an interview and was arrested," Read said.
A social services worker learned of the relationship and reported it on Jan. 26.
Comporato remains in custody at the Yuba County Jail. A court date has not been scheduled.
