Car Window Shot Out
Shauna Elder, 27, said she was standing between the fence and this car Friday evening when Yuba City police shot her fiancé, Kevin Shane McCoshum, who was armed. She said a bullet travelled through this window and then through the windshield close to where she stood. McCoshum died that night.
Mobile Home Park
Yuba City police on Friday night responded to a 911 call made from Fairview Mobile Home Park, pictured, on Wilbur Avenue to find Kevin Shane McCoshum armed with a rifle. Yuba City police shot McCoshum and he later died – an action his fiancée questions.
Elder and McCoshum
Shauna Elder, 27, was feet away when her fiancé, Kevin Shane McCoshum, 29, was shot by Yuba City police on Friday. McCoshum died later that night. Elder said the couple had been together for five years.

The fatal shooting of Kevin McCoshum by Yuba City police officers was found legally justifiable by the Sutter County District Attorney's Office, authorities said Monday.
A statement released by Jana D. McClung, Sutter County assistant district attorney, said authorities discovered a suicide note written by McCoshum and that McCoshum's fiancee told investigators that she knew he was going for "suicide by cop."
