ReStore re-opens at former Mervyns site
The ReStore operated by Habitat for Humanity at the old Mervyns in Marysville opened this week to strong crowds, store manager Debbi Morris said.
"It's trickled off just a little bit, but there's still a steady flow of customers," she said Thursday.
The ReStore had been opened for two days in January, but issues arose with a city permit for the property, Morris said. The permit was issued Tuesday, she said.
Habitat is leasing the old Mervyns building, which closed in December 2008. The ReStore here is one of the largest in the United States. The nonprofit based in Atlanta has more than 700 such stores in the United States and Canada. Lighting, flooring, doors, furniture and books are among goods for sale as a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity projects.
