A Live Oak girl is reported missing, then returns two days later:

"I am glad she was found and she was unharmed. I hope they work all their family issues out and they get back into enjoying each other and their lives." -squaw3

"Thank goodness she's OK!! At that age you just don't have a clue about danger no matter what people tell you. Kids can do so many stupid things - I know that I did. Let's hope that she learns from this!" -ruby465

"I would say mom and daughter need some time together and talk things out in a neutral area and work things out. A confused teenager is the most dangerous since they work on impulse and not common sense. Just hug her and tell her that you love her and then wait a day and find out why she ran off. Don't get angry, that only makes the situation worse..." -joyharbour

A medicinal marijuana store is set to open on North Beale Road in Linda:

"I wish them good luck, I also hope they have a really strong security system." -lndprklou

"It is time for Yuba County and especially Linda to start taking pride in themselves not let strip joints, dope stores and other things take over the area. You may want to lower the standards more for money but there are a lot of citizens who do not." -yubasutterlife

"...But also a legal source for medical MJ is also needed in the Yuba-Sutter area. It provides a semi-safe (i say semi due to the area) place to purchase their medicine legally, without the fear of being robbed, extorted or manipulated. But until the entire legalization of marijuana there is going to be a constant 'tug of war' between the only club in the area, and having to go to the streets..." -nickinicknick

"Now the county should open its own dispensary. Maybe with health department. oversight and a spot in the linda mall it could compete with the new shop and bring in even more revenue(without all the safety issues of N Beale rd)...Darn, I'm starting to sound like a politician..." -twrecks

A 75-year-old man is attacked in the parking lot of a Yuba City Walgreens:

"What the heck is a 75-year-old man doing out at 1 a.m.?" -lawmansdaughter

"What the heck are those kids doing out at 1 a.m. with a gun?" -franks15

"When are you people going to realize that the majority of teen violence, robberies, and shootings are related to GANG activity? The police know, but apparently the public doesn't. Figure it out 530." -davidobarge

Yuba City Unified considers running its own special education programs:

"I know people who hide the fact that they are special ed qualified so that their district doesn't make them "teach" it. There are so many hoops and so much paperwork that a special ed teacher ends up having very little time to actually teach..." -justthinkin

"Special Ed is terrible in this district. These students are not getting the proper help now as it is so I am not sure that saving more money is the answer. Schools try to move their special ed students so they don't have to deal with it!" -2taboo4u

"Just make sure every penny the state gives you for 'special education' is spent on 'special education'." -mahouston69

PAY HIKE?
What should the board of trustees do with the proposed $29,282 pay raise for Chancellor Nicki Harrington?
Rescind it. Now is not the time.
Give it to her. She should be compensated fairly and competitively.
