PLUMAS LAKE
4 arrested on weapons charges
A Yuba County traffic stop Saturday ended with the arrests of four East Bay residents on weapon charges.
A sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding shortly before 12:20 p.m. on northbound Highway 70 south of Plumas Lake, according to Yuba County jail records. Four occupants were detained, including the driver, 19-year-old Jonathan Kane Trueba of Hayward.
Also arrested were Timothy Thomas-Kino Higgins II, 22; Michelle Lopez, 22, and Travis Anthony Kalani Higgins, 19, all Hayward residents.
The four were taken to the Yuba County Jail on suspicion of possessing concealed weapons. Timothy Higgins also was held on suspicion of firearm possession by a felon and he and Trueba were denied bail for probation violations. Bail was set at $25,000 for Lopez and Travis Higgins.
