Forecasters are warning that a freeze will hit the Yuba-Sutter area tonight and drop temperatures into the low- to mid-20s.
The National Weather Service office in Sacramento said it would get “very cold” in the warning, which runs from 10 p.m. tonight through 9 a.m. Tuesday and stretches from Redding down to Turlock.
Temperatures will drop and stay below 29 degrees for between four and eight hours, according to the service, and residents should check on the elderly, provide shelter for outdoor pets and cover exposed pipes and irrigation lines.
