Community Celebration — Noon Tuesday, fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., at Lake Minden, 1256 Marcum Road, Nicolaus, sponsored by the firefighters associations of the communities of East Nicolaus and Pleasant Grove. Free parking.
Annual Children's 4th of July Parade — 10 a.m. Wednesday in Yuba City, from Gauche Aquatic Park, 421 C St., to the Yuba City Town Center on Plumas Boulevard. Staging starts at 9:45 a.m. at Gauche Park. Sponsored by the Yuba City Parks and Recreation Department.

Biggs July 4th Hometown Celebration — A parade at 10 a.m. Wednesday down B Street, preceded by a pancake breakfast starting at 7 a.m. at the Community Center served by the Biggs Lions Club, and activities starting at 5 p.m. at the Biggs High School football field. The fireworks display is at about 9 p.m.
Nirjal-Akadshi Day — Free soft drinks and fruit for passersby from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday at Sri Narayan Hindu Temple, 1829 Franklin Road in Yuba City as part of a religious tradition held by temples in India every year.
Free Swim Day — 1p.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday at the city swimming pool at P Street and Pennington Road, Live Oak. Sponsored by the Live Oak Lions.
Colusa — Annual Duckie Race at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the levee stairway at Seventh Street to the Colusa bridge, sponsored by the Colusa Lions Club; fireworks at dark at the Sacramento River at the state Recreation Area along the levee, sponsored by the Colusa Firefighters Association.
Fireworks at Lake Oroville — 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The crest's main road closes at 3 p.m. and no bus service is available.
Grass Valley/Nevada City — Parade at 2 p.m. Wednesday on Broad Street in Nevada City followed by activities from 3 p.m.-10 p.m., including a fireworks display, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. Admission at the fairgrounds is $8 for adults and free for children under 12 and military personnel. Sponsored by the Grass Valley Downtown Association and the Grass Valley and Nevada City Chambers of Commerce.
