Toy barrels set out for kids in need

COLUSA: Umpqua Bank, RaboBank, Wells Fargo Bank, Davison Drug & Stationey, Colusa Fire Department, Sacramento River Fire Department, Colusa Regional Medical Center, Chung Sun Market, Tommy's Market Street Grill, Baxter Auto Parts, Les Schwab Tires, Tri Counties Bank, US Bank, Messick's Ace Hardware, All Star Realty, Kittle's Outdoor Sports, Auto Zone, Riverside Lanes and the Board of Supervisors office.
The toy barrels are out and waiting for the generosity of Colusa County residents to fill them.
The California Highway Patrol and Impact Thrift Store set out the barrels at 30 sites and are asking residents to donate a new, unwrapped toy to be distributed to less fortunate children in the county.
"Times are tough, and this time of year is even tougher with Christmas around the corner,"John Waggoner Jr., information officer for the Williams CHP headquarters, said in a statement.
"The Chips for Kids toy drive has been very successful the last few years, and the people in this community are the ones who have made it so successful. The generous donations made over the years have put smiles on many faces of young children in this county."
Additionally, barrels will be available at the Christmas Tyme event in Colusa event on Dec. 7.
