Boosters' selling trees

The Willows High School Boosters' Christmas tree fundraiser was so successful last year, the organization is back at it again this year.

After just a few days, the fresh Noble and Douglas Fir trees are flying off the high school's football field like sugar cookies on Christmas Eve.

"We started with 120 trees when we opened on Friday and have about 45 or so left," said President Heather Baker on Monday.

The organization hopes to sell out over the next five or six days, so those still needing a fresh, high quality cut tree for the holidays needs to pick one out soon, Baker said.

The Christmas tree lot is open 3 p.m. — 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. — 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday while supply lasts.

In addition to the Christmas trees, the senior class has a few Christmas wreaths left for sale.

The Christmas tree fundraiser is one of several ways the Willows Boosters raise money to help fund girls basketball, swim team, boys soccer, golf and other sports or school programs.

The organization raises about $20,000 a year.

Although the annual golf tournament remains the Booster's biggest fundraiser, selling Christmas trees provides an opportunity for residents to invest in their local school through their purchase, Baker said.

The 3-foot to 9-foot fresh, moist trees range in prices.
