Brief: Appeal looking for Korean war veterans

With the 60th anniversary of the armistice of the Korean War coming this summer, the Appeal-Democrat is planning a series of stories profiling those who served in that war.

We would like to find veterans who served on the ground in Korea, including soldiers, doctors, nurses and other personnel willing to recount their experiences during their time in Korea.

The Korean War is sometimes referred to as the "forgotten war." We would like to talk to local people directly involved in the war to help make sure it isn't forgotten.

If you served in the war and are willing to recount your experiences or know a Korean War veteran who would be willing to be profiled, please call city editor Eric Vodden at 749-4769 or email him at evodden@ appealdemocrat.com.
