100 years
One of the most important deals in the history of Yuba County was closed, according to a statement made by J.M. Henderson, the well known Sacramento banker, when the Yuba farm lands and investment company purchased 1,300 acres of the Ayer's holdings between Marysville and Smartsville. The property was situated about eight miles outside of Marysville and was among the most productive in the state.
50 years
Several business concerns expressed interest in taking over operation of the Marysville Hotel, whose dining room and tavern were closed for nonpayment of federal taxes. Manager Bruce Newcomb said he hoped to have the hotel reopened "within a couple of weeks." But he said he did not know who would take over its operation.
25 years
Protesters picketed the Olivehurst Community center in anger over the cancellation of an "exotic" male dance show that came under attack by a local pastor. Armed with signs saying "Who owns the Olivehurst Community Center?" two protesters walked in front of the center in an attempt to convince board members the show should go on.

The AutoWest Amphitheatre in Yuba County, formerly the Sacramento Valley Amphitheatre was named the Sleep Train Amphitheatre. The new name and sponsor were announced to a crowd of approximately 30 people that included county representatives, local law enforcement, businesss leaders and the media at a press conference at the amphitheatre on Forty Mile Road.
A contaminated plume of groundwater migrated off Beale Air Force Base, tainting about seven acres. The plume was from a former base landfill, between the main gate and the Wheatland gate, which was in the process of being cleaned up. The landfill, known as Site 13, was coupled with Site 10, a former aircraft engine test area, in the base's cleanup process.

Marysville City Council members voted to approve an exclusive agreement with Main and Main Commercial Inc. — a subsidiary of Chico-based Main and Main Investments, LLC — to broker one or more lease deals for the property on B Street across from Ellis Lake.
