Briefs: Kids water safety class is Tuesday
Water safety classes for children in Yuba County are set next week at the Public Health Division, 5730 Packard Ave., Suite 100, Linda.
Children under 18 years are eligible for the program at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Proof of residency in Yuba County is required.
Participants must be present to be fitted for life jackets provided at the end of class.

Applications are being accepted to fill seats on the Community Memorial Museum Commission.
Needed are representatives for District 1 and 3 and an at-large representative.
Applications can be picked up and returned to the clerk of the Sutter County Board of Supervisors, 1160 Civic Center Blvd., Yuba City.

Canine rescue store seeks items
The Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue Thrift Shop in Yuba City is in need of new and gently used items to sell and raise funds for the organization.
The store is at 855 Gray Ave. The group works to place unwanted dogs into loving homes.
Items sought include furniture, collectibles, electronics and seasonal decorations.
Donations can be dropped off at the store. Arrangements can also be made to pick up larger items.

Pot ordinancevote on Tuesday
The Yuba County Board of Supervisors is set to vote on revisions to its medical marijuana ordinance on Tuesday, amid warnings by local growers they could face a lawsuit.
According to the agenda item, the board will vote on revisions to the defined area of cultivation, the conditions defining a public nuisance, and exceptions to the ordinance, which the board approved in response to concerns from property owners.
Supervisors meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the board chambers at the Yuba County Government Center, 915 Eighth St., Marysville.
