300 marijuana plants seized in Yuba County
About 300 marijuana plants turned up as the result of a search warrant being served at a property in Loma Rica this morning by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department.
According to a department press release, sheriff’s deputies served the search warrant on the 6400 block of Bayberry Lane after 8 a.m. and discovered the plants and one person there.
Though there were valid recommendations for medical marijuana at the property, other evidence showed the plants were not in compliance with the state’s medical marijuana laws, and the plants were seized.
Charges against the person or persons responsible for the grow are pending, according to the press release.
Yuba County supervisors discussed amendments to the county’s medical marijuana public nuisance ordinance later Tuesday morning. It’s not clear whether the grow would’ve been in violation of the ordinance, though some who spoke at the meeting said the county has begun enforcing its ordinance.
