Briefs: Book sale begins at Sutter County Library

The Fall Book Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Sutter County Library, continues through Oct. 13 at the library, 750 Forbes Ave. in Yuba City .

Money raised helps support activities at the library.

Sale hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

The sale includes novels to children's to cookbooks plus a collection of religious and foreign language books.

'Favorite Things' production set

"Favorite Things," a "Sound of Music" theme, is featured in the 10th annual Way, Way, Way Off Broadway production sponsored by the Rotary Club of Yuba City.

The fundraiser includes three shows Nov. 9-11 at the Yuba College Theatre, 2088 N. Beale Road.

Performances are:

Nov. 9: Celebration at 6:30 p.m. with the show at 8 p.m. including a catered buffet dinner, no-host bar and desserts and champagne, plus a silent auction. Tickets are $50 each.

Nov. 10: The show is at 8 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m., and includes desserts at intermission, champagne and wine. Tickets are $40.

Nov. 11: The show is at 2 p.m., doors open at 1:30 p.m., with desserts at intermission. Tickets are $25 each.

Adopt a Magazine month under way

Friends of the Sutter County Library is sponsoring Adopt a Magazine month during October, seeking individuals and organizations to fund an annual magazine subscription for the library in Yuba City.

A nameplate in each magazine cover will identify the supporter.

Hospice plans candlelight tribute

Sutter North Hospice is hosting a nondenominational annual memorial celebration by candlelight in honor of those who received care from the organization and to support their loved ones.

The event is at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Veterans Hall, 1425 Veteran Memorial Drive, Yuba City.
