Yuba City man arrested in stolen gun probe
A Yuba City man was arrested Sunday after a three-agency investigation led deputies to stolen firearms.
Donald Hake is in custody after authorities conducted a search of a home on the 2600 block of South Walton Avenue in Yuba City and found several firearms that had been reported stolen.
At 12:54 p.m. Friday, there was a report of a home burglary, where several guns had been taken, in the 1000 block of Township Road in Gridley, according to a Butte County Sheriff's Office press release.
During the investigation, law enforcement received information from a resident who had seen a suspicious vehicle in the area, according to the release. The person was able to provide the sheriff's office with a license plate number and records of the car showed an address out of the area.
On Sunday, Butte County sheriff's deputies, the Sutter County Sheriff's Department, the Yuba County Sheriff's Department and Yuba City police officers conducted a probation search at the Yuba City home and reportedly located the firearms.
Hake was booked into the Yuba County Jail on unrelated charges and a parole violation, according to the release.
Bail was set at $75,000. He will face burglary charges in Butte County.
