Briefs: Safety seat check-up at Round Table

A Child Safety Seat Check-up is planned from 10 a.m.-noon today at the Round Table Pizza parking lot, 828 Gray Ave., Yuba City.

Sponsored by the Kids Travel Safe Program, the free event is coordinated by the Yuba City Police Department's Traffic Education and Enforcement Unit through a grant provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

An Adoption Faire and "Barking" Lot Sale is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue Thrift Shop, 855 Gray Ave., Yuba City.

Dogs will be available for adoption in the parking lot.

A cooking demonstration and tasting is part of the "Eat Right!" National Nutrition Month event at the Yuba County Library in Marysville.

The free program is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at 303 Second St.

The event, with nutrition tips and free goodies, is sponsored by the Yuba County Health and Human Services Department.

Legion post sponsors dinner

Spaghetti and ravioli are featured in a fundraising dinner today for the Wounded Warriors Fishing Day sponsored by the American Legion Post 807.

Dinner is being served from 5-7 p.m. at the post hall, 5477 Feather River Blvd. in Linda. A donation of $7 is requested.

The fishing day is May 11.
