Live Oak

Lions set bingo event Thursday

The Live Oak Lions Club is sponsoring its June Bingo Night on Thursday.

Set at the Live Oak Community Building, doors open at 6 p.m., with games played from 7 to 9 p.m.

The event also includes prize drawings and free sandwiches and coffee; sodas and water may be purchased.

Cost is $12 for six cards and extra cards are three for $1. Proceeds benefit several community youth and service programs including Little League, Boy Scouts of America and the Girls Tech Trek Camp.

The community building is at N and Park streets in Live Oak.

Williams

Ice cream social at museum

An old-fashioned ice cream social is slated Sunday at the Sacramento Valley Museum, 1491 E St., Williams.

Scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., the event features Brock's old-fashioned ice cream by the scoop, root beer floats, ice cream sodas and popcorn. Prices will vary.

All proceeds benefit the Sacramento Valley Museum Archive.

Activities also include croquet and badminton set up on the front lawn and music from the 1940s and '50s.

Yuba-Sutter

Training to aid seniors July 8

Training begins July 8 for volunteer counselors in the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program for seniors in the Yuba-Sutter area.

The counselors provide help with Medicare issues, appeals and grievances, supplemental insurance plans and long term care insurance.

HICAP volunteers are highly-trained and registered with the California Department of Aging.

Yuba City

Historical Faire slated July 12

Participants are sought for the upcoming fifth annual Yuba-Sutter Historical Faire at the Yuba Sutter Mall in Yuba City.

The event is an opportunity to show off and inform the public about the area's historical background.

Non-profit groups can also request donations at their booths on the day of the event.

The most sought categories include historical pictures, lectures, tours, antique autos and farm equipment and information on long standing businesses and the art and music in the community.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 12.
