Volunteers can work for police

The Marysville Police Department is accepting applications for its volunteer program, part of the department's Community Oriented Policing Services, or COPS.

In addition, the Police Department is inviting residents of neighborhoods in the city to organize a new or refresh current Neighborhood Watch Programs to help fight crime.

Applicants for the COPS volunteer program must be 20 years or older, pass a background investigation, and commit to at least 16 hours a month to volunteering.
