Driver in fatal arrested

A Marysville man arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in the death of a 17-year-old was driving without a license and insurance, according to Yuba County Sheriff's Department records.

Danielle Woodruff, a Marysville High School student, died Wednesday in the collision on Highway 20 east of Marysville.

Lorenzo Flores-Aguilar, 50, who initially was identified as Lorenzo Flores, was arrested Monday at Rideout Memorial Hospital, where he was recovering from a broken leg and inte nal injuries, and booked into Yuba County Jail. Bail was set at $100,000.

Charges include vehicular manslaughter, two counts of causing injury by driving under the influence, and driving without a license and insurance.

His arraignment in Yuba County Superior Court had not been scheduled as of Tuesday afternoon.

Flores-Aguilar was identified on a jail booking sheet as a farm laborer living on Ellis Lake Drive.

A celebration of life will be held for Woodruff at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Crossroads Community Church, 445 B St., Yuba City.
