    Yuba City

    Forums coming on school schedules

    Information about a possible common high school schedule at Yuba City and River Valley high schools will be provided during two community forums at the schools.

    The public will also be able to provide input for the information gathered by an advisory group formed by the Yuba City Unified School District governing board.

    Meetings are scheduled:

    • Thursday — 6:30 p.m. at the River Valley High School multipurpose room, 801 El Margarita Road, Yuba City.

    • Oct. 22 — 6:30 p.m. at the Yuba City High School multipurpose room, 850 B St., Yuba City.

    Live Oak

    Lions hosting bingo night

    The Live Oak Lions Club is hosting an October Bingo Night to raise funds for its many community youth and service programs.

    The event is from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, doors open at 6 p.m., at the Live Oak Community Building, 10200 O St.

    The cost is $12 for six cards. Sodas and water will be available for purchase. Sandwiches and coffee will be free.

    Community projects helped by the Lions Club include Little League, the city's swimming pool, Diabetes Camp, Boy Scouts of America and Girls Tech Trek Camp.

    Yuba-Sutter

    Gleaners still doing 'Brown Bag'

    The Yuba-Sutter Gleaners Food Bank is continuing its Sutter County "Brown Bag" program while moving to its new location.

    "Brown Bag" distribution is scheduled:

    • Today — 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Gleaners new site, 760 Stafford Way, Yuba City.

    • Tuesday — 9 to 11 a.m. at the South Youth Organization building, 740 Butte House Road, Sutter.

    • Oct. 22 — 9 to 11 a.m. at the Live Oak Community Center, 10200 O St., Live Oak.

    Marysville

    Archive lectures throughout month

    The Yuba County Library in Marysville is hosting tours of its California Room and lectures as part of California's Celebrate Archives Month.

    The tours, highlighting the collection and new and improved services, are at 4 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Monday.

    Lectures scheduled are:

    • "The Californios" — 1:30 p.m. Saturday by Henry Delamere.

    • "Ramey Research Team" — 5 p.m. Saturday by Kathy Sedler.

    • "Arboga Archives with Dorothea Lange" — 2 p.m. Monday, by Sue Cejner-Moyers.

    All events are free. Each event is limited to 10 persons.
