Two Solano Street trees were sheared off around 4 p.m. Wednesday when an 86-year-old Orland woman lost control of her vehicle and drove it onto the sidewalk at Fifth Avenue, policed said. After driving the eastbound car onto the sidewalk and taking out the two trees, Colleen Adele Ledgerwood was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital where she was arrested by Corning police on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was booked into the Tehama County Jail on $5,000 bail. No one was on the sidewalk at the time of the crash.
