Revelers warm up in the competition pool after ringing in the new year by jumping into the cold activity pool during the 2012 Polar Bear Plunge and Slide Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at Gauche Aquatic Park in Yuba City. About 50 people participated in the 16th annual event. The activity pool was 46-degrees, the slide was 54-degrees and the competition pool was 83-degrees.
