Defenders to host tryouts

The Yuba-Sutter Defenders baseball program is holding tryouts on today at Riverbend Elementary School at 6 p.m. for 10 year olds.

This age is the equivalent of boys who would be playing as a 10-year-old in Little League for the 2011 season.

Plumas Lake best ball

The Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club will host the 2010 Plumas Lake Best Ball NCGA point event championship. The deadline for entries is Aug. 6 and tee times and pairings will be posted on Aug. 11 after noon.

The entry cost is $114 per player, $228 per team for the championship flight and $104 per player, $208 per team for the handicap flights.

If you are a member, the cost is $50 for the championship flight and $40 for the handicap flight.

Marysville High School is offering its annual soccer camp Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
